[2 .] For tbobserving of the diete of Brügges his highnesse yave 2 commissiones after the 2 matiers. In the first commission he constitued 5 commissioners, my lordes Chamberlayn and Howard, sir John Scotte, master William Hatteclyff and master John Russell, the power to remaine in 2 the last in default of other; in the second commission for the second matier of merchandise to be tretid at Brügges aforsaid the kinges highnes constitued 10 commissaires, my 2 lordes aforsaid, sir John Scotte, master William Hatteclyff, master John Russell, master Herry Sharp, sir John Crosseby , William Rosse, William Bracebrigge and Hugh Bryce, the power to rest at lest in 4 ; in the thirde commission for the diete of Utreght in the matier of Esterlinges he constitued 8 commissaires the same that be in the second com mission, my said 2 lordes excepted, the full power remaigning in 2, master William Hatteclyff and master John Rüssel afornesaid in default of other, hereupon the said master William and master John willing to doo the king serviee and plesir and in obeyng his comandment for so moch as to thaim 2 was commission yeven in all 3 matiers, and that by virtue of the said eommissions thay shuld algates appier at either of the places for the 2 dietes appointed required in all 3 matiers. In the ende of the said moneth of May thay arredied thaim seif toward the said places for keping of the said 2 dietes as foloweth.

We thenking convenient that we shuld go see him and do him reverence, went to his palays on the morne, wher was purposed aforne him by the mouth of master John Russell the cause of our coming and the cireumstances therof in good forme and according we thanked him of his saufconduit and besoght him of the continuaunce of the faveur of his good lordshippe etc. Whan he had well herd us, he wellcomed us and honoured us for the kinges sake and yave us upon all desires right good and gentill aunsweres.[1]
